SHORT POST

Students and teachers from Payton and BJG traveled to Ipolytarnóc and Hollókő today. In Ipolytarnóc,we tourned the Ipolytarnóc Fossils Nature Protected Area: the site of a volcanic eruption 22 million years ago. Led by a guide, we took the Geological Study Tour and watched two short films which depicted the story of the eruption and explanied the natural history of the area in 3-D. Once we arrived in Hollókő, we saw the ruins of a 13th-century fortress, destroyed during the Turkish retreat.
